In the past I have waited until the last minute to even try to figure out my Christmas gifts for my loved ones, but this year, on the last day in November, I’m almost completely done!! Yayyy, for this entirely grown-up achievement! I have been very blessed this year (in more than a few ways), and so I have bought some awesome gifts this year! *patting myself on the back* I actually have had lots of fun shopping for others this year, probably because there’s been a few gifts thrown in for myself! JK!! I’ve always been the type of person who loved doing for others, but life takes turns, as we all know, and sometimes bad feelings spill over into other aspects of life…blah blah blah! But the last couple of years I feel myself growing, making better choices, surrounding myself with better people, growing wiser, liking myself more, and to top all of that…I’m in the most amazing relationship…and frankly…what’s better than good love? Not much in my book! So as we embark on this holiday season, and I attend my first tree trimming party of the season, I am grateful and smiling from ear to ear!
As I have indicated in a previous post , I am a purist in a lot of different ways. One additional way is that I love, love, love snail mail notes. Handwritten thank you notes, typed invitations, or even just a little note to say hello! My first job ever was at a famous card store, and I continued to work there part-time for years (way too long in my opinion now!). No wonder I love an actual card!! However, in the age of technology it’s becoming more and more old-fashioned for me to send out my note cards. There are still some people who appreciate my cards by mail, ie older people, but for the more modern people….I introduce you to Paperless Post. It’s like actual fabulous cards, that you can send electronically (not anything like a bloody e-card…blahhh). They even have Kate Spade cards, and anyone who knows me knows that I heart Kate Spade (even some Jack Spade pieces…my babe just got a cutie Jack Spade tote bag). And so, if only for the K Spade pieces, I am very happy for this new find of mine. Make sure you check it out!
I hope I am not the only one who has heard of the alliance of Target with Neiman Marcus for a holiday collection. I am too stoked! Anyone who knows me knows that I L.O.V.E. Target, and even though my wallet doesn’t fully appreciate Neiman Marcus, I still manage to get them to play together every once in a while! LOL! But this holiday collection…talk about mixing high and low. And the few items that I’ve seen from the collection…simply gore!
This past week was so busy, I didn’t have much time to post a whole lot. I have been wondering how successful bloggers are able to blog several times a week, and still hold a full time job and run a household! They must be miracle working women! And I greatly aspire to be apart of their club one day!
1. pumpkin patch for pumpkins (of course), apples, and fresh pressed apple cider
2. ladies high tea
3. volunteer with the food bank in dc
4. murder mystery dinner theater; because I’ve always wanted to go to one, and have never been
5. work more on my blog site; would like to find some creative ways to produce more traffic to it
I might be adding more to this list as the weeks go by…excited!!
Well not technically grandma’s house, but a cabin in the woods, yes! A group of friends of mine and I have decided to take a weekend trip to the most western tip (almost PA) of Maryland to one of the lake resort homes. We’re currently deciding on a house, which is very dependent on how many couples are going. But in my mind, the most prevalent thing is “cabin chic” attire. I’m working through finding some nice pajama sets, and I just happened to purchase a nice pair of sassy slippers last week. In my head, there has to be a balance…nothing too “nightie”-ie (that’s just inappropriate), and nothing too “school marm”-ie. And then of course pajamas is different from lounge wear, which I will also
need want to get! I love shopping with for a theme/purpose. So I’ll probably will be sharing a couple of posts of my cabin chic finds, so stay tuned!
