happy new year…and all that jazz

This will be my first post of the new year…I know you’re probably thinking “five days late”. Alas a lot had been going on in life, in fact just last night my engine completed stalled while I was driving it off the exit ramp, right up the street from our house. Ugh! But geico sent a tow truck for me, and we got it to the repair shop. The guys there are actually looking at it right, to see why she is sick…and hopefully they won’t charge me my entire arm and left leg to fix her. Other than that, the first few days of the new year have been fairly good to me. I’m looking at a new job, just feel its my time to move on. We’re also looking at (albeit preemptively) houses for us to buy, once the babe gets out of law school. We’re also thinking of renting a house next year versus another apartment. I also think there might be some new bling in the near future, that I am soooo completely and overly excited about. I am, however, still trying to maintain my cool!! This year I think I will be starting at least one series, which will produce a more consistent posting. I’ll keep you posted on all the details.

We made it through…

26 Dec

…Christmas completely unscathed…at least most of us…I hope! I’m currently writing this blog on brand new handy dandy iPad….ohhhhh how I love it. I was almost afraid that I’d leave all my other electronics behind, but I realize that sometimes I would prefer to still use my laptop with an actual keyboard. Now on to the Kate spade website to order my new iPad case!

overly trendy

15 Dec

I’m usually not overly trendy with my fashion, but I sometimes try to incorporate a thing or two here and them into my mostly classic and slightly preppy wardrobe. Insert wedge sneakers. I’ve been on the fence about them for months, but about 2 weeks ago I ordered some. I wore them yesterday, and was instantly in love! They’re comfy, hip and dare I say…kind of sexy. I got a few compliments on them too!! I went cheapy (in case I really didn’t like them) and got the gold-ie ones from target online. Has anyone else tried this trend?

finally ready for the holidays

10 Dec

I finally broke down and took out my tree, decorated it and the rest of our apartment yesterday afternoon. I also wrapped up most of my gifts. Today is my babe’s birthday, but unfortunately my future lawyer has one last exam for the semester tomorrow so the real celebration won’t be until the upcoming Saturday. I do, however, have a few surprises up my sleeve for today! Yesterday, with my cousin’s bday, marked the start of my extra busy birthday/holiday season. I’m sooo excited!

ladies' tea recap

Our ladies’ tea was absolutely fabulous! It was a great experience that I plan to repeat again in a few weeks, this time going with some ladies from my family. It was all shades of femininity and luxury…yet simple.

I’m a sucker for an accessory

Stainless Steel Hammered Tumbler, Gold – 16 fl oz.

Any kind of accessory really…and this is such a gorgeous yet functional one…I couldn’t pass it up! Those who know me, know that I can’t survive a day with a coffee and my coke zero (with a straw of course!!), otherwise I wouldn’t make it through the day. So if you have to drink something that makes your breathe most assuredly un-pleasant, then at least it can come out of something really cute!

In the past I have waited until the last minute to even try to figure out my Christmas gifts for my loved ones, but this year, on the last day in November, I’m almost completely done!! Yayyy, for this entirely grown-up achievement! I have been very blessed this year (in more than a few ways), and so I have bought some awesome gifts this year! *patting myself on the back* I actually have had lots of fun shopping for others this year, probably because there’s been a few gifts thrown in for myself! JK!! I’ve always been the type of person who loved doing for others, but life takes turns, as we all know, and sometimes bad feelings spill over into other aspects of life…blah blah blah! But the last couple of years I feel myself growing, making better choices, surrounding myself with better people, growing wiser, liking myself more, and to top all of that…I’m in the most amazing relationship…and frankly…what’s better than good love? Not much in my book! So as we embark on this holiday season, and I attend my first tree trimming party of the season, I am grateful and smiling from ear to ear!

holiday fever

25 Nov

So our trip to Western Maryland was the bomb.com. We’ve all concurred that what happened at the resort…stays at the resort, just like Vegas! But we definitely had too much fun!! However, last weekend started off my holiday sluggishness, and I think I’m in for some t.r.o.u.b.l.e., especially the day before and after thanksgiving. And with multiple birthdays coming up in December and January (including mine), Christmas, and New Years, I’m not exactly sure when enthusiasm for work will increase! Ah well, the lack of enthusiasm for my job is for an entirely different post, but the holidays have made it hit an all time low. Is anyone else experiencing this same holiday fever?

happy thanksgiving!!

22 Nov

I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday. Don’t eat too much! 🙂

now…who’s going out for Black Friday tomorrow?! lol
